Standards Australia

Standards Australia is the country’s leading independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit standards organisation and is Australia’s representative of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Although Standards Australia develops standards, it is not responsible for enforcing, regulating or certifying compliance with those standards.


Structural Safety (UK)

Structural-Safety, based in the UK, operates a common shared database in a number of countries and regions including the UK, Southern Africa, Australia and the USA. In the UK it has two entities: SCOSS and CROSS.

SCOSS was established in 1976 to maintain a continuing review of building and civil engineering matters affecting the safety of structures. CROSS is a confidential reporting scheme established by SCOSS in 2005 to capture and share lessons learned which might not otherwise have had formal recognition.


The Institution of Structural Engineers

The Institution of Structural Engineers is the world’s largest membership organisation dedicated to the art and science of structural engineering with over 28,000 members working in 105 countries around the world. The Institution is an internationally recognised source of expertise and information concerning all issues that involve structural engineering and public safety within the built environment. The core work of the Institution is supporting and protecting the profession of structural engineering by upholding professional standards and acting as an international voice on behalf of structural engineers.

Engineers Australia

Engineers Australia is the national forum for the advancement of engineering and the professional development of our members. With more than 85,000 members embracing all disciplines of the engineering team, Engineers Australia is the largest and most diverse professional body for engineers in Australia.


Consult Australia

Consult Australia is the industry association for consulting companies in the built environment sector, including engineers, architects, project managers, planners, environmental scientists and quantity surveyors, among others. CA exists to assist member firms by offering a range of products and services to help them run their business, as well as acting as their collective advocate to government and other stakeholders in pursuit of a better operating environment and robust public policy for the built and natural environment.


BPEQ – The Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland

The Board regulates the profession of engineering in Queensland through the administration of the Professional Engineers Act and managing the RPEQ system. The objectives are to protect the public by ensuring professional engineering services are provided by a registered professional engineer in a professional and competent way; maintain public confidence in the standard of services provided by registered professional engineers; and uphold the standards of practice of registered professional engineers.
